There is now a whole range of practical storage and display solutions available for our food and drink requirements and in a wide range of styles and colours to suit both our practical and health safety needs and artistic tastes and personalities. They can even be customised to your own particular requirements if desired.

Versatile storage
Plastic containers are used to store almost every item imaginable from medicines to tools, flowers to toothpaste, chocolates to archived files, drinks and liquids to clothes, books and much more.
In the summer months bottled water is very popular and you see many people carrying bottles in their hands as they jog down the street or travel back and forth between home and office.
While this is a convenient way to go however we must also be careful about what types of plastic we are using to store our food and drinks, since there is ‘good’ plastic and ‘bad’ and so it is important to know the difference, both for the sake of our health and that of the environment.
Water container, Plastic or Glass?
In recent years there has been a large increase in the number of people carrying their own water containers.
These bottles often contain water sourced from pure springs in the mountains and this is often preferred to regular tap water which may sometimes be contaminated with unfriendly bacteria or contain high amounts of chemicals such as chlorine.
Water that can be packaged in plastic containers, then, increases consumer choice, although not all bottled waters are the same and some of these can contain or leach contaminants too.
Some people may want to consider using glass containers for this reason.
However glass also carries risks and is heavier to carry, so it is less convenient for everyday use, especially for someone who is moving around a lot.
Plastic bottles
The most evident of all plastic containers and one which is instantly recognisable is arguably the plastic bottle.
You see them on every supermarket and kitchen shelf containing all kinds of liquids including household cleaning products, shampoos, medicines, carbonated drinks, natural juices and water.
Over the years these handy containers have almost completely replaced glass as a the medium of preference and I suspect it is mainly because glass can break so easily and so represents a safety hazard, through the increased possibility of cuts and subsequent infections.
The problem is that some plastic bottles may contain a danger that is not quite as visible as a broken glassand here it is important to know the difference, for example between BPA and PET plastics when deciding which one to use
For example most mothers these days usually prefer to give their children a drink from a plastic cup rather than a china or ceramic cup or mug or from a regular glass tumbler, which is ok if the plastic is BPA free but could cause problems if not
Most PET plastic water containers are safely washable and reusable, often come with a screw lid or top, are quite durable and are usually well within budget.
